Mary N Jordan

Mary Newell (Peggy) Jordan passed away February 23, 2014 in Tempe, AZ. She was born June 11, 1924 to Mary Andrews and Olin C. Newell in Fort Huachuca, AZ. Being the daughter of a cavalry officer, much of her childhood was spent on Cavalry Posts. At 16, Peggy entered the University of Georgia and was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She married the love of her life, Edward Lawrence (Larry) Jordan in 1943 and spent the next 23 years as an Air Force wife. Residing in Tempe since 1962, she was an active member of PEO, Tempe Garden Club and the Salt River Panhellenic. Peggy is survived by husband Larry Jordan; daughter Mary Lynn Vickers; sons Thomas N. (Kathy) Jordan and John Lee (Mary Kay) Jordan; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at Friendship Village, 2625 E.
