Our beloved mother entered into rest on June 27, 2016. Mary Ann Smith-Brechler, 84, was born in Albany, New York on March 6, 1932. She moved with her family from New York at age 16 to Phoenix, Arizona, where she graduated from Mesa High School in 1949. She married Donald Lloyd Brechler on July 21, 1950 and they enjoyed 59 years as husband and wife. They provided loving homes and raised their four children in Phoenix; however, the Brechler family lived in California and New Mexico for many years, then returned to Phoenix in 1965. When the children were grown, she earned her CDL and became a co-driver with Donald, putting in millions of miles doing cross country driving for RWI Trucking as “D&M Trucking”. Mary Ann endured the sorrow of losing her first son, Michael, in 1956, and the death of her beloved husband in 2010. She is survived by her children Kathie Brechler (Australia), Nanci Brechler, Larry Brechler (Nancy) and Ron Brechler (all of Phoenix), eight grandchildren and many, many great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, Arizona 85009. Mom was a very strong, caring and loving person with a quick wit, that made us forget the stubborn and determined side of her. Her favorite response when she had nothing else to say as “Wheeee”. Our mom will be greatly missed and forever loved. She is gone, but not forgotten. WE LOVE YOU MOM!
