Martin Torres Martinez

His viewing will be held at 10:00 AM and funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on December 15, 2020. Burial will follow the funeral. Arrangements are being handled by Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens.

Martin was born in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico on October 13, 1933. At the age of seven, he started to learn the trade of shoe repair. In his youth, he worked at the Tony Lama Factory in El Paso, Texas, where he made boots. He had an entrepreneurial spirit. In 1969, he and his family moved to Phoenix, AZ, where he opened several businesses throughout the years – shoe repair (opening a total of six stores), wrought iron, Mexican imports and a Mexican food restaurant.

Martin is survived by his wife, Maria de Jesus, and seven children; Rosa Maria, Ismael (Margarita), Saul (Yubisa), Joel (Alice), Maribel, David and Judith Betzabi Martinez. He also had 13 grandchildren, 6+ great grandchildren and 1+ great, great grandchildren.
