Mark Fowl passed away on December 19, 2022 at the age of 59 after a courageous battle with brain cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Mark was born to Mary Lou and Alvin Fowl, on August 19, 1963 at Luke Air Force Base, in Glendale, Arizona. Mark’s childhood was spent moving frequently, from England to Florida, making new friends along the way. Mark graduated from Arizona State University in 1986, and shortly started a fulfilling career with Salt River Project.
In 1995, Mark married Jane, and together had two children, Hannah and Alex. In 2002, Mark answered his calling by becoming a firefighter with the Glendale Fire Department. Though he would’ve denied it himself, Mark was described as the “perfect fireman,” finding a career that married his compassion and call to service.
Mark’s humor, kindness, and generosity leave an incredible legacy in both his community and the lives of those who loved him. He had an uncanny ability to bring light to the darkest of situations, and make good times better. Mark will be remembered as a loving husband, incredible father, kind friend, talented firefighter, and a one-of-a-kind individual. Mark is predeceased by his father, Colonel Alvin Fowl, and survived by his wife, Jane; daughter, Hannah; son, Alex; mother, Mary Lou; brother, Guy, sister, Kathy; and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
Mark’s life will be honored with a funeral service at Desert Diamond Arena on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Ben and Catherine Ivy Foundation or the 100 Club of Arizona.
