Beloved wife of James Bickman Sr.,(pre-deceased), of 58 years; nurturing mother of 7 children, grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother to 29.
She was born July, 1, 1930 in Okmulgee OK, the 2nd of 3 sisters. The family moved to Phoenix to stay when she was a teenager in 1947.
While a senior in high school she turned down an offer to train with the opera. She was engaged already and chose the life of wife and mother-much to her family’s gratitude, and pleasure in her beautiful voice!
Mom spent her life, love and energies on her family, but her interests included reading, dogs and horses. The latter she enjoyed riding the trails with dad, beginning in her 40s.
She was never happier than to have her family about her, especially as we grew up and spread throughout the country.
She left a legacy of kindness, honesty, hard work and love of our Lord Jesus.
We want to thank Banner Hospice and The Gardens of Scottsdale for all their kind care of our mother in her last months.
