Malcolm ("Mac") McDonald was born in 1936 in New Mexico but lived practically his whole life in Phoenix. Mac met the love of his life Earlene at a young age and they dated until they married in 1959. He attended Phoenix College and went to ASU for one year (as an art major), but quit when the couple started a family, with Brian being born in 1966 and Heather in 1970. Mac and Earlene were married for 54 wonderful years. Mac had a long career with Precise Metal Products, staying there for 31 years. He was hired as an artist, but quickly became a manager in charge of paint spray and marking. He enjoyed his career, but took to retirement "like a duck to water"! Mac loved photography, reading, gardening, and animals but mostly his family. He also had an amazing sense of humor, a very dry wit, and he was often a prankster. Mac and Earlene also enjoyed RV'ing, traveling in both the U.S. and the world, eating out, movies, and playing with the grandkids. Mac's best qualities were his tenderheartedness, sense of humor, and stable personality. He was the rock of the family. Mac and Earlene's daughter Heather,married Will Denney who had a daughter Emelia. They had 2 children, Rebecca and Megan. Brian, Mac and Earlene's son, lives in Colorado with his wife Leda, her kids Devon and Marcella and Brian and Leda"s twins, Jace Tucker and Elaina Mae. Mac will greatly be missed by everyone who knew him. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 2p.m. at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Ave. Phoenix.
