Lucille Nicholl, 88, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on July 9, 2012. She was born and raised in Bourneville, Ohio where she met and married the love of her life, Vearl "Nick" Nicholl, who preceded her in death. Lucille is survived by her sister, Martha Jean Long (James), Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughters Shirley Nicholl Muir (Gene) of Phoenix and Debbie Perey (Roger) of Phoenix, 6 grandchildren: Cindy (Muir) Woodard, Jason Raper (Rebecca), Shawna Perey, Nathan Raper, Christian Muir (Katie) and Carrie Cuellar (Dan); 12 great -grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. Lucille and Vearl also had a son, Terry, who passed away as an infant. During WWII, Lucille was employed as an engraver and worked on the Norden Bombsight that was instrumental in the War's success; some of her engravings still remain on the USS Missouri. She always worked hard throughout her life and retired from the Phoenix Cement Company in 1988. She loved to travel and enjoyed several trips to Hawaii, especially the one with her sister, Jean. Lucille was a wonderful sister, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother who cherished her family and could always be counted on for her support. Her courage, indomitable strength, humor, and caring will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday morning, July 14th, 10 AM at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E Greenway Road, Phoenix.
