Louise Sodano

Louise was born in Brusciano Italy the daughter of Carmine Napolitano and Maria Castaldo. She was a strong woman and never met a challenge in her life she could not overcome. On Dec 11th, 1955, at the age of 16, Louise migrated alone to the United States to build a new life for her parents and siblings. On July 17th, 1960, she married the love of her life, Joseph Sodano in her hometown of Brusciano Italy. Waiting for the immigration papers, they enjoyed a 6-month honeymoon touring Europe, it was a love like no other! Joe and Louise had a wonderful life with their 3 children Angela, Mary Ann and Saverio Francis (Frank), full of love and family gatherings, her favorite pastime. They lived most of their married life in New Jersey and New York retiring in majestic North Phoenix Arizona, creating a love story of the century. In the early years, they spent their summers at their beach house in South Belmar, which was always overflowing with family and friends. It may have been a small house, but there was a bed in every room, including the dining room.

Louise was a talented seamstress who at the age of 56 attended Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in NYC, working her way to pattern maker then assistant designer. She created high-end evening wear for model Beth Ostrosky Stern, Judge Judy, Matilda Cuomo to name a few. One of the dresses even made the on the cover of Playboy magazine. Her talents did not end there, Louise was an extraordinary cook, and baker which was the centerpiece of gatherings with loved ones.

Louise is survived by her husband Joseph, her daughter Angela and husband John, granddaughters Rachel and Rebecca, daughter Mary Ann and granddaughter Daniela Angelina, son Frank and wife Susan, grandson Matthew, sister Anna and nephew Anthony, brother Joseph and wife Louise, nephews Carmine and Anthony and many loved ones.

Heaven has gained the most beautiful angel who will be greatly missed by all, she was the heart and soul of the family, selfless, always putting others first. So, as we fill this huge hole in our hearts and plan her memorial in New Jersey in the Spring of 2025, spread love and kindness in her name. As she left this world, she bragged about going to a place where there is no war, fighting or sadness, just love, peace and happiness.
