I am so saddened that my Aunt Zelda passed away.  She was someone that people remember....very sweet, funny laugh, and the most amazing sense of humor!  I was fortunate enough to see her and Mary a few times over the past few years and each visit was filled with laughter (mostly at my Dad's expense!) and great stories.  I will remember her fondly and with a smile, and wish Mary all the best.

It's hard to believe you are gone Zelda and now there is just one Linda McMahon in the family!  I have known you all of my teen and adult life and have not just considered you my sister-in-law but a wonderful friend.  I will miss your phone calls, your funny cards, you sense of humor and the love you had for Mary and your family. You were a wonderful woman and I'll always have a special place in my heart for you. Linda was a funny lady with a great laugh.  I enjoyed walking in the park many mornings and afternoons with both her and Mary.  Whether it was Butter or Chickie, they took awesome care of their doggie children, and always were out there in the rain or cold. I took Linda and Mary to lunch prior to moving and only talked with them once since February.  May the memories of you Ms. Linda comfort Mary.  You are truly missed by all who knew you. It's hard to describe my relationship with my sister Zelda. We didn't have a lot of contact over the years, but I've always felt a deep connection with her. I'm sad to be without her.

Hard to choose just a few memories. I remember when I was a little kid people would say I was cute, and Zelda taught me to tell them in response, "That's because I look like my sister." She was 18 when I was born, so it wasn't like we grew up together. She had to take care of me a lot when Mom was in the hospital. Despite a serious lack of maternal instincts, she did it very well. I recall one time when Gary Pelligrini was at the house and the three of us, for some reason that now eludes me, decided to eat dinner on the kitchen floor. But most of my recollections are from when she would come to stay for a weekend at Mom and Dad's house. We'd eat pizza, work the Sunday crossword puzzle... just enjoy each other's company. Zelda had a terrific sense of humor, and an acerbic, but not unkind, outlook on people and on life. One of my favorite recollections is from the weekend of our niece Shannon's wedding. The four of us kids hadn't been together for at least 10 years. Zelda flew from Phoenix to Chicago and I flew from Denver to Chicago and we were able to sit together on the plane to LaGuardia. Mick picked us up during rush hour; it took 2-1/2 hours to get to their place in Connecticut. The whole time, Zelda and Mick reconnected, swapping stories from their childhood, like they'd never been apart. Mostly I just listened. It was a fascinating insight into our family's history. Another time I recall was when Dad spent a few days at Zelda and Mary's place in Toronto. Mick and Linda went to get him and bring him home, and they picked me up in Buffalo on the way. We all stayed up late eating Chinese food and had a wonderful time.

It was before my time, but I remember the photo of The Spirit of Womanhood, which Zelda constructed and put (I think) in the front yard of our house. Wish I still had that picture. Zelda exemplified the spirit of womanhood.

The last time I saw Zelda and Mary, I think, was when they stopped in Denver on their way to Mount Rushmore. Zelda had always wanted to visit there. It was so neat that they detoured a bit so we could have dinner and spend the evening together. It probably sounds a little odd to say that you miss someone you didn't see often. Maybe it was just the reassurance she was always there down in Arizona. I wish the four of us could have gotten together one more time, but it just never worked out.

I also met Linda and Mary while walking our dogs in the park. Linda had such a great sense of humor and she was always ready with a smile and a good laugh. Both of you wonderful ladies are missed and will stay in my thoughts every day.

Linda was an amazing and fun person. When Linda and Mary moved in next door they had big shoes to follow, the people prior to Linda and Mary were great.  Not only did they both fill the "shoes", I don't see how any new neighbors could fill the warmth and happiness that was Linda. Happy travels friend, you were a treasure in this world, my your wings carry you far in the next.

Jay and I met Linda and Mary at the park where we all walked our dogs.  We so enjoyed both of them and loved Linda's sense of humor.  She will be sorely missed.  Rest in peace dear friend.
