Linda loved her family dearly and was a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a great homemaker sharing many talents as a cook, seamstress, and artist. She had two quotes that hung in her home that exemplifies her devotion to and love of her family - “Home can be a Heaven on Earth” and “A Family That Prays Together, Stays Together”.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and displayed a great love of the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in the scriptures. She served faithfully in many assignments including teaching Relief Society and Seminary. She was able to overcome health and physical challenges to graduate from Arizona State University with both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work.
She was preceded in death by parents Elease Hayes Champion and William Nolan Champion; and her sister Shirley Elaine Clement. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rodney Rex Jarvis, children Rhonda Lynn Stuart (Mike), Rex Nolan Jarvis (Johanna), Tammy Michelle Guadalupe (Miguel), David Anthony Jarvis (Sarah), 24 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters Lois Thomas and Mattie Champion.
Due to COVID-related limitations only immediate family (limited to 50 individuals) is invited to attend services on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3802 N. 59th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85033. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM and the funeral service will immediately follow at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at the Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale.
