Larry what can I say, you were a great guy. Always friendly, always willing to lend a hand, and you always had a story or joke to tell. I'm going to miss all the laughs we shared when I worked with you. The one thing I will never forget is when you would get to work and pull out your big bag of candy from your lunch bag. I'll also always remember the fishing stories, talking about camping, hunting and all of your stories from past Residents. You will truly be missed by all of us. It's your time to rest my friend, and don't worry we'll take it from here. Go easy Larry and cast one out for me. Until I see you again...

Well, where do I start? I had only worked with Larry for only a few months but I do have some nice memories of him. He trained me on 3rd shift and we had some down time to talk about his favorite foods like great northern beans and sweet corn from back home being raised on a farm. He had his whole milk everyday in his jar with usually some sort of meat (usually chicken) and pasta, skip the veggies! We also checked the daily lotto numbers, horoscopes and glanced at the crossword puzzle to get a head start before he got home to do it in the news paper. Larry was the real deal when it came to working for others, he didn't brag about it or anything it was just his nature to be there for people which made him truly genuine. Days before left us he was happy about some new comfortable shoes he got from a friend because they reminded home of house slippers. Larry was going through some things but he was a trooper and saw no threat to being ill, things like that didn't stop Larry from fulfilling his obligations to his job and the people at the complex he helped out. I don't think I will ever forget him and think about any new stories he had to share that i didn't hear or nights we planned on working together. Thank You Larry for the memories.

On September 12th BSS Phoenix suffered the loss of a dedicated employee and great man. Larry Egli passed away in his sleep unexpectedly at the age of 67. Larry worked for the company for 5 years and was the lead monitor on 3rd shift; he always volunteered to help others and took great pride in completing his tasks. We were all devastated when we heard the news and all of us have been mourning the loss of our friend and reminiscing about our favorite memory we shared with Larry.  
Larry not only worked at BSS, he also was the head maintenance person at his condominium complex for a couple of years and as you can imagine this would normally make the average person tired and a bit cranky. This was never the case with Larry; he always had a kind word for everyone and would always go out of his way to do nice things for others. When Larry was moving into a new home, he claimed to have an abundance of beautiful plants that he wanted to find good homes for and he gave these amazing, lush, vine house plants to his co-workers to brighten up their day. One of my favorite breakfasts at BSS was Larry's famous cherry chip cake; he would usually bring in two sheets to share with all the staff, but most of the time it was gone by 10:00 a.m.  All of us will miss Larry's sunny disposition and even if he was feeling under the weather or tired his joking response to “how's it going Larry?” was always met with “Fat and Sassy”. 
It was always a difficult feat to get Larry to take his vacation, because he really enjoyed his job and was always worried about what was going to happen while he was away. His favorite vacations were his fishing trips. He had a favorite lake and spoke fondly of his mornings which consisted of waking up early, making a fresh pot of coffee on the fire (which he would normally share with the neighboring campers), throwing out his first line and enjoying the serenity of the lake. I know our dear friend is resting peacefully by a majestic lake with a cool breeze, surrounded by grassy fields and tall shady sycamore trees .

Larry, it has been a pleasure knowing you at work. You are truly missed. I am going fishing this weekend and the first cast is for you!! RIP my friend.

Uncle Larry you will truly be missed! You have made such an impact on so many people. We miss you terribly and will forever hold onto your memory. We love you!
