Kim was born on November 21, 1951 at the old St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, AZ to Merl and Winifred (Luplow) Kemp and passed away on July 3, 2021 at the age of 69. She was a fourth generation Arizonan and second generation native born. She was proud to be a member of a pre-statehood family.
Kim was an alum of Saint Gregory’s, West High, Phoenix College and Arizona State University. After retiring from the Arizona Department of Corrections in 2006, she enjoyed travel, attending plays, visiting museums and spending time with family and friends.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents and beloved grandparents, Ronald and Dorothy (aka Bobo) Luplow and Federick and Ida May Kemp. She is survived by her sister, Billie (Tom) Ford, three nephews: Tom (Corrine), Christopher (Anai), Joel (Melissa) Ford and their families and numerous cousins.
A celebration of Kim’s life will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 10:00am at the Desert Breeze Community Church, 17600 N Black Canyon Hwy., Suite 101, Phoenix, AZ 85053. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Kim’s memory to the charity of your choice.
