She had many adventures growing up. Her Father flew fighter jets in the United States Air Force. Katherine lived with her family in Japan for a total of 8 years. She lived in Fukuoka, Fuchu, and Okinawa, Japan. Katherine climbed Mt Fuji in 1971 at 14 years old. She learned and spoke Japanese and participated in Japanese Girl Scouts. Katherine graduated from Kubasaki High School in Okinawa, Japan in 1975. She loved the Japanese culture and cuisine. Her love for wonderful food continued as she participated in cooking classes with her parents at Kitchen Classics for several years. Katherine drove a yellow VW beetle which was enjoyed by her nieces and nephews. She was an amazing storyteller of elaborate children’s stories created on the fly. Each story was a series of adventures that Katherine customized for each niece, nephew, or beautiful child who was able to share in her joy and wonder of the world.
Katherine earned several advanced degrees including an Associates of Arts in Court Reporting from Gateway Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Studies, English from Arizona State University and a Masters Degree in Education from Northern Arizona University.
Katherine held a full-time Court Reporting faculty position and was a Registered Professional Reporter Coordinator at Bryan University for the past 10 years. She also built two businesses which included Certified Electronic Reporting and Transcribing and Certified Legal Videography. Katherine also taught Court Reporting at Gateway Community College for over 25 years. She worked at America West Airlines for 16 years which enabled her to travel throughout the US and abroad.
Katherine loved to travel and was known for her generous nature. She was proud of her students and they touched her life as much as she touched theirs. She is survived by her mother, 3 brothers, 3 sisters and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Father, USAF Colonel Raymund F. McNally. She will be missed by all of those who lives were touched by her.
The family would like to thank the many people who have supported Katherine during this time. Her family would also like to thank the Mayo Clinic Scottsdale for their wonderful care and kindness she received during her stay.
A Celebration of Life to honor Katherine McNally will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort.
