Karen graduated from Bell High School and then attended and graduated from Southern California College in Costa Mesa. One day before her 26th birthday, she married the love of her life, Vern and soon there after they moved to Washington where they started their family. About 40 years later they retired to Arizona.

Karen had a heart for helping everyone. She started many groups such as special classes for the Spanish speaking children in her schools. She spoke Spanish so she was able to help children develop their English so they could succeed academically.
Her music came into play in the many musical performances for her students at schools she taught at.
Karen's hobbies were reading, spending time with family, travelling and last but not least catching trout at her family cabin at Twin Lakes. She grew to love fishing even more than her husband Vern.
At the end of her life her greatest happiness was seeing two amazing children become happily married and bringing grandchildren into her life.
Grandchildren were God's gift to Karen and Vern. So much joy was given to her by these four little ones. What a blessing they were to her.
