Judi Wilson, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on June 18, 1946, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to Richard and Evelyn (Hoffman) Berkey, Judi grew up in Smyrna, Georgia, where she graduated from Campbell High School. In 1967, she found her forever home in Phoenix, where she lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family.
Judi had a successful career and retired from CenturyLink, where she was respected and admired by her colleagues for her hard work and commitment. But her true legacy lies in the warmth and care she bestowed upon her family.
Judi was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Johnny Wilson, with whom she shared a life full of love and cherished memories. She was the loving mother of Jeff (Margie) Wilson and Jennifer (Mike) Majors, and a doting grandmother to Nathan, Kaitlynn, Vince, Savanna, Megan, and Erin. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Jacoby, Kinzee, JJ, Mina, Milo, and Jackson, who brought immense happiness to her later years.
Judi's love for her family was unparalleled. She created a home filled with joy, support, and endless encouragement. Her ability to make each family member feel loved and special will be dearly missed. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in particular, held a special place in her heart. She cherished every moment spent with them, from holidays and birthdays to simple everyday joys. Her love and care knew no bounds and were the foundation of her family.
Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Judi's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and kindness.
Judi Wilson's legacy is not just in the family she leaves behind, but in the countless lives she touched with her generous spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In her final days, Judi received extraordinary care from the compassionate nurses at Honor Health Deer Valley and Hospice of the Valley Sherman Home. Our family extends heartfelt thanks for their kindness and dedication, which brought great comfort to Judi and all of us during this difficult time.
In keeping with her wishes, a graveside service for immediate family only will be held to honor her memory in a more intimate setting on Wednesday, January 10. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Hospice of the Valley.
