Judith Gay Newbanks, born January 1, 1939, in Mossy, Fayette County, West Virginia, went to be with her Lord on September 24, 2024. Judith was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Judith’s family moved from Mossy to Parkersburg in the mid 1950’s and she was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, Class of 1957.
She moved to Phoenix, Arizona, from Parkersburg, WV. in the fall of 1978, and became an apartment manager along with her husband, Lloyd. Judith was also a worship leader for many years in both Parkersburg, West Virginia and Phoenix, Arizona. She loved praising her Lord and leading others in praise and worship.
Judith is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Levi Newbanks, her parents, Glenn P. Wriston and Dana G. Coleman Wriston, two of her sisters, Connie G. Wriston Amos and Glendora E. Wriston Burchette.
Judith is survived by her children, Dana L. Newbanks, Vera G. Newbanks Wagner, and Lloyd L. Newbanks, the second, and his wife, Valerie Spencer Newbanks, as well as 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by her sister and brother, Pasty D. Wriston Tincher and Perry J. Wriston, (and his wife, Elaine) in West Virginia.
There will be a celebration of life for Judith on November 2, 2024, at 4 p.m. Services will be held at Prepare the Way International Church, 18777 N. 32nd Street, Phoenix, AZ, 85050, off of Union Hills Center. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the mission fund Way International Church.
