John was born and grew up in Carmi, IL, and graduated from Carmi High. He then went into the Navy and was a navigator. After getting out, he became an owner operator for 29 years. John then joined Knight Transportation and stayed with them for 23 1/2 years. After he retired, he enjoyed being up North.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, John Stallings and Amelia Maurer Stallings. His siblings, Catherine Steele, Amy Paschedag, Pauline Cox, and Paul Stallings. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jacklin Stallings, his three sons, Johnny Stallings of San Jose, CA., Matt Stallings of Phoenix, AZ, and Josh Stallings of Warren, PA. His five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of any flowers, the family requests a donation to Sherman Home/Hospice of the Valley.
