Looking at pictures of John and Vi, sharing their love for each other and those around them, brings back great memories of sitting around the kitchen table chatting and sharing stories. Here they are at Maxine's 80th birthday party. John, always caring, with a ready smile, helping others, and never forgetting to enjoy life. Rest in peace. We shall miss you, dear friend - The Muellers: Jon, Susan, Rebeca, Zachary, and grandchildren.

    Oh my goodness how sad to hear of John's passing, he will be missed dearly. So sad that in our later years that we couldn't get together.  Always enjoyed their Christmas pictures, I still have them all.  Remembering all the fun trips that we had in the camper.  How many places we were together in Arizona. All the good get together's  and all the eating. We were all good at that. How he enjoyed his family togetherness.  So many memory's to even mention. All the good times as well as the bad. God has you in his arms, and you will be forever in our hearts! I will miss talking to you. Rest well My friend and brother in law.
PS; Thank you for including his brother Walter and myself in the picture memories. we sure had fun. 

Vi was Tom’s aunt. We met John when he and Vi came to Indiana. They were so sweet together.  We were so happy to see both of them together. John was a very interesting man. We will miss John but he is with Vi whom he was missing after her passing. He said he would take her ashes around the house with him and felt her presence. Rest in Peace

My memories are of conversations about Alaska. You asked me about the real good things, " not what you see in those damn travel magazines" . Talks of gold and cold. We were miles apart in distance but closer than some in the need to have adventure and travel.  Until we see each other again. At ease Uncle John.

Always enjoyed visiting with you Uncle John.  You very kindly gave my Jennifer a beautiful set of silverware for her wedding. Always enjoyed corresponding with you and Vi at holiday time.  May you Rest In Peace and give my love to dad.

We were fortunate enough to live next door to John and Vi for the past 17+ years. They were more than neighbors they became friends and family to us.  From the first day we moved in and they came over to welcome us to the neighborhood with a pitcher of lemonade, and a plate of cookies...until last year when at age 97 John built us a new gate, they were always there for us.  Each holiday, birthday or special occasion we would get a call to come over and meet them at their door where they would have something special for us.  And they always sent us a thank you note for everything...made out to "the gals" and sent through the mail.  They were the kind of neighbors you could call to borrow a stamp, a cup of sugar or a tool (as John had them all) and it was never a bother.  They watched out for all the neighbors and knew the comings and goings of all.  For years they brought up all the neighbors garbage/recycle cans on collection day before any of us got home to do it ourselves!  They decorated their house for each and every holiday but they especially loved Halloween where they would sit outside with all the decorations handing out candy to all the kids from their front patio.  We are grateful for all the years we had them and we will miss them terribly. Our cauldesac and neighborhood will not be the same without them. Our sincerest condolences to the entire family. 

John married Vi, my mother-in-law's best friend, when they were both older.  Vi was so happy with John, and he doted on her so much!  He took her to get her hair done every week, and they moved into a guest room so she would have the master bedroom set up as her ironing room because she loved to iron so much.  When Vi was ill, John was even more attentive, and had injured himself trying to help Vi get in and out of her chair, so friends chipped in with me and we purchased a lift chair to help Vi and keep John from getting hurt. John told me amazing stories of his time working in California painting and working on the homes of some famous people and also of his time in the military and his electro-shock therapy after he was discharged.  He was the sweetest man I think I ever met, and the world is a little less without him.
