John Alexander Gallagher was born in Upland, California on June 14, 1954, the son of Alexander and Ethel (Karopchinsky) Gallagher. He died at Mountain Vista Medical Center Mesa, Arizona on March 24, 2021.
John loved God, life, his family and education with all his heart. He graduated high school a year early and enlisted in the United States Air Force at 17. He served 5+ years and obtained the rank of Staff Sargent. On discharge, he used the technical skills he had mastered and joined Wang Laboratories working with systems in major companies in both Ohio and Arizona. He formed his own consulting company after Wang closed and continued to work with major insurance companies. During this time, he continued his education and earned many awards and certificates in the IT industry. After retirement he continued his education earning a diploma as a Pharmacy Technician in order to understand the effect that pharmaceuticals had on the body, a certificate as a Senior Sustainability Professional in order to understand the effects of climate change and when Covid-19 hit, he became a certified contract tracer.
John was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Carmen King-Gallagher, his sister, Gloria (Frank) Hardman, step-son Thomas J. King V and grandchildren Logan and Tyler, step-daughter Mrs. Crystal (Brian) Bracy and grandchildren Evan, Miranda, Quin, Elora, Aiden, and Liam, niece Heather (Randy) Lisciarelli and their children Joshua, Matthew, and Amber, many cousins and family members.
Private services and burial will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ.
