John L. Fox

John L. Fox passed away on 28 July 2014 aged 88 years and 1 week. He was born on 21 July 1926, the son of William Riley and Deliah Clay Vigus Fox in Collinsville, Texas. He was drafted 16 October 1944. He went overseas in early 1945 and was assigned with the 161 Infantry Division, Luzon, Phillipine Islands. He went to Japan as occupation forces with the 25th Division at the end of WWII. While there he enlisted in the Air Force and remained in the AF until he retired 1 December 1964 with rank of Msgt (E-7). He received the Combat Infantryman's Badge, Bronze Star, Commendation medal, and many awards during his time in service. He married in May 1947 to Winifred Kendra Dispennet. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, and four daughters, Charlotte Ann and Michael O'Brien, Fairfield, PA, Martha Marie and Marlyn Reamey, Phoenix, AZ, Janice Susan Fulkerson, Hurst, TX, and Pamela Leigh and Brian Spraetz of Plano, TX. Six grandchildren Scott Fulkerson, Adam and Christina Fulkerson, Holly and Chris Foster, Maggie and Matthew DeVenny, James Reamy, and Austin Spraetz. One great grandchild Brodie Foster.
