MUM'S PASSING

“Goodbye,” she said,
“I love you all.”
“I'm dying now.”
And then that was all.

She closed her eyes 
And started to be
Between two worlds
Neither fully she could see.

Marked by each breath
The moments ticked by
Sitting vigil, we waited,
Too attentive to cry.

In her face, she expressed
Conversations she engaged
With those gone before her
The final debate being waged.

To leave this earth;
Be with loved ones long past,
Or remain in our plain
Stubborn and steadfast.

We all had to convince her,
Both here and beyond,
That we'd all be OK,
Though our hearts had grown so fond.

A dilemma all our own,
We were caught in limbo too.
Our hearts not wanting to say goodbye,
Though we knew it's what we should do.

In a moment of silence
Finally convinced she'd fought the fight,
She took her chance, beyond our glance,
And stepped into the light.

My dearest sister Staci, 
words cannot accurately express the depths of painful sorrow that comes with losing your mother in death. Jill was a beautiful woman, wife, mother and friend and will truly be missed. She brought light into this world with you and Scott, she herself was transformed when she found her true love in Kent and she shed a positive light on the countless lives she touched including mine. I will forever cherish the memories of mom.

Dear Staci--Jim and I are so sad to know that Jill has passed on and left you with wishing it weren't so.  A mother has a very special part of your heart and we know you will cherish the many good times you had together.  Remember what a good person she was and how many lives she brightened with her beautiful smile.  Ours were among them.

Dear Kent, my brother----My memories of Jill, when she came into your life, Kent, and into our family, are of her positive outlook, her ready sense of humor, her charming Aussie accent.  I could see how she changed your life for the better, not counting all the kittens she fostered.  Jim and I recall your part in our family trips and how much fun we always had together.  Our children and grandchildren had many laughs with you and Jill. Though we don't know her Australian family, we feel a connection to that beautiful country through Jill, in spite of her love of vegemite.  (Hey, we tried it.)  I will miss our shopping sprees in Tucson while you and Jim played golf.  I will miss her.  Jim will miss her.

Kent  and Staci we are so sorry of Jill's passing ,we have many memories to cherish in our hearts of her ,Our trips to Disney World ,our Disney Cruises ,and many more ,she always gad a beautiful smile on her face ,loved her very much ....forever in our Hearts

Kent-  Jill's passing will leave a great void in our lives.  She was a wonderful person and a great friend over many years.  We share in your grief and our thoughts are with you always.

My time with Jill goes back to the early 70's at the now closed Valley View Hospital in Thornton, CO.  We worked there together and I assisted in the delivery of Staci on May 1, 1974...hope that is correct!  I treasured time spent recently in Vegas with Jill...and now she is gone, so many memories will keep her alive in everyone's heart.  She was a strong lady who worked hard to overcome heart problems from her childhood.  She will be missed.

Kent - We are so sorry to hear of Jill's passing. Of the few memories we have with her, her kindness and smile are what we remember most.  Our thoughts are with you!

Jill, you where more of a sister to me than a mother in-law.  You gave me hope when I thought there was none.  I am blessed to have been a part of your life

In the 21 years I've been employed at Sam's Town, Kent and Jill have always been a pleasure to serve, and also to share a laugh with. I wish everybody I've met in those 21 years could be as great as they have been towards me. Jill will truly be remembered as a sweet individual who always had a smile on her face and kind words to match. Thank you Jill for the wonderful memories.

Dearest Big Cuz. Jill we were more like sisters, growing up at Waroona as we did. So many shared experiences but with our own unique memories. Later you were my 'sophisticated' Big City Cuz in your skinny leopard print bikini, arriving at Waroona with Peter in the MG with the roof down. Then you introduced me to real Italian spaghetti and Chinese food, shopping at Myers, and took me dancing at Power House when I was 16! Despite physical distances you have always been such a constant in my life and "So got Everything". You will live forever in my soul but Oh How I will miss you! You would be so proud of Staci keeping us Down Under so linked in and we look forward to connecting in person, soon! Rest in Peace Big Cuz - your legacy lives on through us ...
