Jean Lee Yee, 85, of Phoenix, Arizona, went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2022. She was born in Kaiping, Canton, China on March 29, 1937 to How Lee and Wai Fong Chan. In 1959, she married Willie Yee and immigrated to the U.S. They settled in Arizona and she worked alongside him in the family grocery business and operated Ranch Market #1 for over 20 years. Jean also worked for the State of Arizona Department of Economic Security, where she retired from after 20 years of service.
She enjoyed planting and tending various Chinese vegetables in her garden, such as winter melon and bok choy, and expressed her love for us by cooking our favorite dishes. She was also an active member of First Chinese Baptist Church in Phoenix, AZ.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie, of 62 years, and her older sister, Chun Tao Lee-Wong. She is survived by her children Mae (Eric), Bob (Fay), Margie (Tim), Jon (Anna); and her grandchildren Zachary, Taylor, Skyler, Alan and Amanda. Visitation will be held on October 29, 2022 from 9-10am at Serenity Chapel at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 719 North 27th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ. Service will be held immediately following the visitation.
