Jason Michael Leffler passed away on April 23, 2019 surrounded by his family. Jason was born on September 22, 1972 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Mary Gaye Mousley and Michael Leffler. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1990. Jason served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he expanded on his testimony and great love of our Savior Jesus Christ through his service and many adventures. He tried many new foods on his mission (such as monkey and hippo meat), and developed a deep love for the people he worked with and served there. He often spoke of his time in South Africa with great fondness.
After returning from his mission, Jason joined a singles ward in his church and made many wonderful, long-lasting friendships that continue to this day. Jason loved being part of this group of friends and had so much fun on the adventures they would have together.
He was employed by the Deer Valley Unified School district for 25 years, where he worked very hard and developed many friendships with his co-workers.
Jason was an excellent cook and could make anything you desired. He was best-known for his Famous Peach Cobbler! He loved being in the great outdoors hiking, camping, and especially fishing. Jason could catch a fish anywhere and usually caught the biggest one! He loved watching movies and was typically the first one to see an action movie when it came out.
Jason was known as "Uncle Piñata" by his nieces, as he would always celebrate special events with a piñata full of candy! He loved decorating for holidays and birthdays and always made his friends and family feel special with the attention he spent on them. His nieces especially loved seeing what he would come up with!
Jason was one of the most kind and generous people you could ever know. He was always quick to smile and help anyone in need. If you ever needed some good advice, or just someone to listen, Jason was your man.
Jason is survived by his parents, his siblings Michelle (Israel) Grossman, Alexandria Leffler, Joseph (Teri) Leffler, five nieces, and his special friend Fry Sauce The Cat (who Jason disliked immensely).
Friends and family can pay their respects on Saturday, May 4 with a viewing from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and funeral from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Campobello Ward, 15018 N 39th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona, 85053.
Burial will be at Valley View Memorial Park in WVC, Utah.
