Janet Lynn Steinke, age 76, of Phoenix, Arizona, entered heaven on Sunday, September 1, 2019. She was born on April 6, 1943 to John and Maxine Thorp in Inglewood, California. Janet grew up in Denver, Colorado and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1961. On November 29, 1980 she married Jerry Steinke. They relocated to Phoenix in 1989. Janet was very involved in the real estate community as well as Al-Anon and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She is survived by her beloved children, Steve and Sara Lewis, Cathy Lewis, T.J. Steinke-Ryan, Nina Fonjga, Crystal Steinke, and Bill Waggoner; her cherished siblings, Judy and Tom Schneck, Michael and Carol Ryan, Patty and Michael Johnson, and Patrick and Cindy Ryan; and her adored grandchildren and countless adopted grandchildren. Her presence in our lives will be forever missed. Janet is preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Ryan; and her beloved husband, Jerry. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 6, 2019, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3801 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ 85032 with the burial to follow at 11:30 am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, 23015 W. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024. A Celebration of Life will then follow at 12:00 pm back at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
