James Eugene Minnich

James Eugene Minnich, 61, of Fort Myers, FL, died Friday, July 7, 2017 at Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. He was the husband of Marilyn Minnich of Walnutport. They celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on June 8, 2017. Born in Laurys’ Station, he was a son of the late Rollin E. Minnich Jr. and Arabella C. (Fogelman) Minnich. He graduated from Parkland High School and attended Lehigh County Community College. He was employed by Lafarge Corporation and Stroh’s Brewery as a maintenance mechanic for over twenty years. James was very proud of his Masonic affiliations and achievements which included Past Master of Chapman Lodge 637, Northampton. He was also active in NCT, a Masonic camping club. He was a Wagonmaster of East Penn #12 and past President of the state of PA.

Spending so many years of his career as a driver, he fell in love with life on the road, especially enjoying the thrill for speed around every corner. Jim’s posterity enjoy fond memories of snowmobiling by the old farm, four wheeling throughout the woods, riding his beautiful Harley Davidson and cutting through the glass-like water on his bass boat. Jim ensured his family enough big smiles and laughs to last for generations.

Enjoying the beautiful, but simple things throughout life were among his best of daily achievements. With his most cherished loved one’s in company, he chose that most perfect lake by which to camp, holding his favorite open cast rod & reel combo in one hand and his favorite brewsky in the other, he waited patiently.....watching the most perfect sunset fall behind lush green mountains, just as the trophy trout began to strike. To him, these simplistic moments, were the purest form of happiness.

Survivors: Wife; two daughters, Tiffany Snyder of Phoenix, AZ and Angela Minnich of Phoenix, AZ; and son Andrew Morris of East Greenville,PA; and his six grandchildren Dillan, Raeghyn, Talan, Mason, Corbin and Auri.
