

James Howard McGlothlin “Jim” 84, of Sun Lakes, AZ passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014 at the Health Care Center of Friendship Village in Tempe, AZ. His loving wife, Essie was by his side. Jim was born on April 11, 1929 in Creve Cour Village, Illinois. He was the only child born to James Alba and Ruby McGlothlin. Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, Essie McGlothlin and daughters, Pamela Ford, Jill Lofgreen, Mendy McGlothlin and Tina Jones. He was the proud grandfather to Jami Lofgreen, Kiera Lofgreen, Erin Blasongame, Stacy Halbert, Megan Ford and Brandon Jones. He was also the proud great grandfather to Essie Jaye Halbert. Jim Grew up in East Peoria, Ill and married his High School sweetheart, Essie Mae Vinson. He worked for Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville, Ill for 15 years before moving to Tempe, AZ. Jim was employed by Salt River Project for 29 years before retiring in 1989. After retiring, he spent his time volunteering at the First Baptist Church of Scottsdale, traveling with his wife Essie, and pursuing his woodworking hobby. Jim Loved his wife and children more than anything else in the world. He will be remembered for the way he made his family a priority and for his service to the Lord. At Jim’s request, a private family service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ.
