James had a happy childhood growing up on the farm with his parents and siblings in Oklahoma. He had a deep affection and love for his sisters and brothers and made it known to anybody that had thoughts or intentions of mistreating them, that their teeth would meet his “two big protectors”! Surely you can hear him now … “Boy Ima Knock You Out!”
The family moved to Phoenix, Arizona where James attended Carver Colored High School. Early in his life, James enlisted in the Army and was honorably discharged. Later had a long tenure at Rainbow Bread Company.
James had an active social life and received an enormous amount of adoration and attention because he was a fabulous talented dancer – thus his nickname “BeBop”. In his own words late in life, he said “I danced my legs off”.
James dedicated his life to Christ after putting him on in baptism into the church of Christ at a very young age. He devoted all his priority time to his church family at the church of Christ at Roeser Road (Phoenix, Arizona) where he remained involved and committed on a regular basis until his health restricted his activities. Later in life, James met Pinkie Ross and they married. They had a wonderful time together as active members of the church of Christ at Roeser Road. They were both avid bowlers and loved to travel in their motor home to tournaments where they competed on a high level. The two traveled cross-country and made many friends along the way.
James leaves to cherish a loving family, his sister, Opal Lynch and brother, Cecil Judie Jr.
While he had no biological children of his own, he considered is nephew Jerry Judie as his son and caregiver.
James would like to express his love to all his nieces and nephews that he helped raise and who helped him along the way. After helping him, would say, thank you and “Here’s Your Pepsi”.
Preceding James in death are his parents, wife, Pinkie Judie, brothers, Jerry Judie Sr., Edward “Sonny” Judie, Sr., sisters, Wilma Judie and Sleatha Jacobs.
