Jim Dorsey, 80, was born September 12th, 1937 in Atchison, Kansas and passed away peacefully June 13th, 2018. Jim is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Katherine Dorsey, son James Dorsey Jr., and grandson Christopher McElroy. Jim leaves behind 6 children: Debbie McElroy, Angie Whittington, John Dorsey, Colleen Dorsey, Melinda Preciado, and Darrin Dorsey. Jim has 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was a dedicated father who loved his family. He enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking, canning, gardening, singing, football, golfing, and he could fix anything that was broken. He had a kind heart and would always help out anybody who needed it. We will miss his stories of his childhood, his funny and witty sayings, and most of all his strength. He was truly our blessing.
