Jackie was born October 22, 1932 in Nottingham England to the late Harold and Gladys Wilson. She was their third child and second daughter. She came to America after meeting her soon to be husband, Walter Chase. They were married in Vermont on October 4, 1952 and traveled for twenty years with the Air Force, retiring in Glendale, Arizona. She was very active in the British Wives Club during her travels and maintained many lifelong friends.
Jackie especially loved, and was loved by her family. She had a warm heart and a generous spirit. We will all remember her wicked sense of humor and wonderful sense of whimsy. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, baking, sewing, knitting and passing on her “helpful hints”. She took special pleasure in looking at her lake and garden with pink roses and spent many hours watching the wildlife activities.
Jackie is preceded in death by her husband Walter and grandson Brian. She is survived by her sister Jean Brett in England, her brother Don Wilson in Australia, her two children, Jane Laningham and Dr. Mark Chase (Kristin), four grandchildren, Adam, Ian (Chelsey), Michelle and Samantha and by her two great grandchildren, Axton and Vivian. And, of course, her dog, Monty.
The Chase family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Amethyst Inn for Jackie's care the past six years. Also to everyone at Season's Hospice who gave us so much care and support and enabled Jackie to live her last few weeks in comfort and peace.
