Smith, Jack H. 62, of Phoenix, Arizona went home to be with his Lord on January 23, 2014. As one of his dear friends stated, “Heaven gained a beautiful musician today.” He was born in Spokane, WA on June 19th, 1951 to his parents Jack B. and Frances P. Smith, who he is now joined with in heaven. Jack is survived by his former wife, Susan Smith, his daughter Michelle Smith (Pat); daughter Angie Hays; son Jack Smith III (Megan); daughter Kerry Brafford, daughter Connie Barfield (Reed); son Adam Harris; daughter Sandy Harris. He was Papa to 17 grandchildren, which he adored. He is also survived by his siblings, Sandra Walker (Kem); Cheryl Cathers (John); Robin Combe (Jim); Erin Dischinger (Kevin); and Kelly Fauss (Marty), and many nieces and nephews. He was given an additional 4 years of life to be with his family thanks to the unselfish act of Christina Trifanoff, who gave a part of herself so willingly. Jack was proudly part of the Ironworkers Union in the Bay area until his juvenile diabetes would no longer allow him to work. Jack loved his Lord and Savior and showed it through his music. He loved playing his guitar and singing worship songs for others, and he did it with great humility. Everyone that met him, loved him, and he was always surprised by that. He had a special way of making people laugh. He will be greatly missed. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org)
Arrangements under the direction of Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services Maryvale Chapel, Phoenix, AZ.
