Isabelle died October 15,2018 in Scottsdale, Arizona after succumbing to a 6 year illness with Dementia.
Isabelle was born on September 28, 1930 in Castel Frentano, Italy to Bambina and Dominic Crognale. Isabelle lived in Italy with her mother until the age of 8 when she and her mother moved to the United States to reconnect with her father in Pennsylvania. Her father had moved several years earlier to get work and prepare for their eventual arrival.
Isabelle grew up in New Kensington, PA where she eventually met her future husband Joseph D’Angelo. Married October 14, 1950 they lived in New Kensington with their parents while Joseph was sent to the Korean war. After the war ended they moved to Phoenix, AZ to start their lives together and eventually had 4 children. Joseph worked in education as a teacher and eventually a Principal while Isabelle was a full time mother. Isabelle and Joseph spent most of their adult years with the Elks Organization attending many events and conventions. They were both very active with Elks as Joseph was Secretary of the Lodge in Phoenix and Isabelle was working in the Lodge office as an administrative assistant. Isabelle and her family were members of St. Gregorys Catholic Church in Phoenix.
Isabelle was a loving mother and wife and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Isabelle is survived by her 3 children (JoAnne and husband Rick Thacker, Joe and wife Patty and Rosemary). 2 grandchildren Daniel and Matthew, 2 sisters Rose Costanza, Mary Feola and 1 brother Dominic Crognale and many nieces and nephews also including several relatives in Italy. Also preceded in death by husband Joseph and son Nick.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at the Silverado Memory Care Facility in Scottsdale AZ for all their efforts and support in caring for our mother for the last 2+ years. Isabelle was a quite a favorite at Silverado and is greatly missed.
