Ida Marian (Mikkelson) Trott was born in Chassell, Michigan, February 4, 1935. She loved her Finnish upbringing and living in Chassell. She married Bob J. Trott of Almont, Michigan, in February of 1960. They enjoyed 21 years of marriage together, raising their five children in Arizona. Ida was a no-nonsense mom who took care of the children while Bob traveled for work. Ida was widowed at the age of 46, with two teenagers still at home. She sacrificed and worked very hard at to keep a home and support her children. She was a fun-loving person with an open-door policy, always had a pot of coffee going and never turned down a bowl of ice cream. She loved chatting with her neighbors, traveling with her daughters and loved visiting all of her children and grandchildren in Tucson.
Ida passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024, at the age of 89 in Phoenix. She is survived by her children, Janine Wiley of Sierra Vista, Jeff (Nancy) Trott of Reno, NV, Roger (Lisa) Trott of Tucson, Lisa (Dale) Eisermann of Phoenix, Tina (Jeff) Brookshier of Tucson as well as 7 grandchildren, Robert Didion, Gretchen Simpson, Stephanie Lynch, Billy Trott, Jesse Trott, April Yingst and Jordan Brookshier, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
A memorial service / celebration of life for Ida will be held Monday, September 9, 2024 beginning at 2:00 PM at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuaries in the Agave Venue, 710 West Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, AZ 85013.
Ida will be laid to rest in Michigan at a later date.
