Horace Alton Hester, 75, of Phoenix, passed away surrounded by his family on February 19, 2012. He was born in Athens, TX on January 3, 1937. Horace honorably and bravely served his country with the U. S. Navy for 32 years and was also a journeyman carpenter for 30 years.
Horace is survived by his wife, Clara, one brother, 2 sisters, 3 sons, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, from 10:00 AM to 12:00PM at Greenwood Mortuary Chapel, 719 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix. A graveside service will follow at Greenwood Cemetery at 12:00PM.
