Herman “Jimmy” Samuel Rosen, age 92, of Anthem, Arizona passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022. Jimmy was born on June 8, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York to Harry and Rose (Spitzer) Rosen, and grew up in the Bronx. As a youngster, Jimmy became the man of the house, supporting his family when Harry was injured. He learned many trades and developed a strong work ethic and life-long love of caring for his family. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 as a Forward Observer for Heavy Weapons Artillery.
Jimmy enjoyed singing, dancing, telling jokes, entertaining the kindergartners as a volunteer, playing instruments, playing poker, and woodworking. He made many beautiful and fun creations in his wood shop which he loved sharing with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Susan Jean (Hayes) Rosen, his son Hal Richard Rosen, and his siblings, Max, Beatrice (Goode), David, and Melvin Rosen.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter Marla (Jeff) Rosen, son Steven Rosen, nieces Bonnie Lewis and Diane Bleiweiss, grandson Marcus (Sarah) Flatbush, and great-grandson Joshua (Flatbush) Goodwill.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Niche side Service to be held at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W. Beardsley Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85027 on Wednesday, November 30th at 2:00pm.
