Grandma Hazel thanks for the amazing photo diary of our lives. I remember going to church and meeting your endless amount of friends. Listening to you at Bible study made me feel so good. Making sweet tea in the kitchen with Ladybird. We giggled at all the sugar we put in.  You were such an amazing woman. You're light shined so bright and you shared it with everyone. I feel blessed to have spoken with you recently and know that I will miss you until we meet again.

Hamma Grazel, 
This was so very difficult to go through during this pandemic. My Daughter Tatum was a: "Champ" @ putting together video calls so we could talk to Hazel. Hazel I Thank You for being a wonderful influence in my life. I Loved going to Church services with her when I was young because I could always count on a piece of Wrigley's Gum from her purse. Grandpa Joe & Grandma Hazel took me to Oklahoma one summer for Dawnita's Wedding & after that Jill & myself re-enacted the wedding a zillion times (Dressing up in Hazels Dresses and High Heels) I enjoyed all of the camping trips we took & the picnics @ various parks around the Valley. We both Loved Dr. Pepper and also shared a Love for the: Phoenix "SUNS".  (She would listen via radio because she loved Al McCoy so much) in her later years she would write out all of the players names/numbers/stats it was quite impressive especially since we had a horrible season. She Loved Murder She Wrote & American Idol as well. Luckily one year I got her a gift that is actually my GIFT it is a book called:  "Grandmother Remembers" and she had to fill every page out covering her life's journey of her memories/history & even Favorite recipes. (She made an Awesome dish we all Loved called: "Chalupa" I will cherish that book always) We baked together, laughed together, & cried together. I can't begin to cover everything I've learned from her but one of my Favorites is:  "Unconditional Love". No matter what was going on throughout my life she was always there for me to lend a hand, ear, or whatever it was that I needed. I Love you Grandma and will miss you until we meet again.

My great-grandmother was one of the most spirited and energetic people I have ever known. She was always telling jokes, laughing, and loving her family deeply. I am so grateful for all of the trips to Prescott as a little girl to visit her and Grandpa Joe and for the times my brother and I drove/flew out to Arizona to spend time with her and our mom around the holidays. She was the best great-grandma I could have ever asked for. I love you GG. Thank you for everything. 

Hi Grandma,

Do you remember when we played basketball in Prescott? I do! I remember you showing us your place with grandpa Joe, and you took me to the basketball court/parking lot area to shoot hoops. I was only 7 or 8 years old at the time but it was so fun and has stuck with me to this day. I miss eating your fudge and talking suns and lakers. I never liked him, but I love how passionately you talked about Al McCoy and suns radio talk shows. I will forever cherish going with Tatum to see you and mom and our countless visits to enjoy Mexican food with you. You are the strongest woman I know and I hope to have as long and healthy of a life as you. May you Rest In Peace. I love you grandma.

Sweet Hazel!  I still remember your wonderful laugh when Kay and I did sone crazy things like trying to make fudge in the summertime.  When it didn’t set, we put it in the freezer and it still didn’t set.  We ate it with a spoon.  “Oh, you girls”  she would say and laugh. I would come with Kay to the Bible study classes you taught in the little house (turned into a church) on Campbell Ave. across from Granada Elementary school.  Thought of you throughout  the years.  May you rest in peace as you join the angels in Heaven, as you were one here on Earth

Purple Haze. I’ll sure miss my grandma. What an amazing woman she was.
I remember a trip across the country in “Big Orange” when I was 8 years old. My grandpa Joe converted an old mail truck into a RV and what an adventure we had. Hazel, Joe, me, and their bloodhound ,Cleo, left their house in Phoenix, AZ and went to his Army reunion in Charlotte, NC. We hit every scenic attraction along the way and spent most of the summer of ‘76 on that road trip. We spent some time on the Kleeman farm in Oklahoma. I got to see where grandma grew up. Outhouse, really?? No running water here? I had the best cantaloupes I’ve ever had in my life. I drove a tractor. We did a river boat run on the mississippi. We visited New Orleans. We went to the smoky mountains in Tennessee where we lost Cleo for a while. I remember the hotel in Charlotte had a pool. Grandma got me a mask and snorkel and it was awesome. She laughed at me for the rest of her years about that day because she says I met a young lady and had a “date” that night. When she arrived later that evening for this supposed “date” I wanted no part of it and told her I needed to help my grandpa with his cameras. Hazel thought it was the funniest thing ever and literally gave me a hard time about it until last week. (I’m 52 now).

Yes, I have a lot of other memories, but I’ll save those for me and her.

I guess I will be  finding out how to carry on without my Mother,  the one who can never be replaced by another.
We had a long run together but I am still very sorry to see you go.
I'll always fondly remember the good times and the life lessons you taught me.

I have a lot of fond memories with Hazel.
We use to watch the sun's together, do jig saws and have a cup of hot tea.
I remember taking Hazel and Marie Miller to bible classes and then we went to the thrift stores and to lunch. I will miss her she was a great woman more like a mother to me.
