Born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Guillermo Jimenez, Sr. lived an ordinary life. He grew up on a farm as a ranch hand and learned responsibility at a very young age. As a young man, Guillermo was able to enlist in the United States Military (Army) and was also granted citizenship at that time. Guillermo honored this country by defending it in World War II. Upon his return to the states, he was stationed in Yuma, Arizona. Guillermo fell in love with Arizona and raised a family of 8 children with his beautiful wife by his side Maria Perez Jimenez. They enjoyed one another’s love for 66 years before her passing. Guillermo made his living as a Steel Worker the majority of his life. His true passion was horses. He started spending the weekends at the horse tracks to learn all the in’s & outs. Once Guillermo was able to make a good living training horses Guillermo was always at the track. His passion for horses was evident as you watched him work with the horses and how the horses responded to Guillermo. Guillermo graced us with his presences and went peacefully on June 12, 2015. Guillermo will be missed by many. Rest in peace beloved father, grandfather & great grandfather! Guillermo is survived by his children: Andy Jimenez (Linda), Teresa Borboa (Carlos, Sr.), Margaritta Gomez (Pedro), Louis Jimenez, Rosemary Jimenez, Guillermo Jimenez, Jr. and Joanna Jimenez. A visitation will be held at 7:00 am on Saturday, June 20, 2015, with funeral service to follow at 8:00 am at the Resthaven / Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens - Chapel of Reflection.
