Mr. Gregory Chism, age 60, born of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was a graduate of Taylor Alder Dice class of 1971. At the time of his passing he was an employee to the City of Phoenix. He was a hard working father to Gene Traylor, Shameka Traylor, Markus Collay, Johnny Collay, Destiny Chism and Hosanna Chism. Gregory was also a devoted husband to Peggy R. Chism and a compassionate grandfather who will truly be missed. Gregory went on to be with the Lord Sunday afternoon on March the 9th, although he did not go without a fight and went down praising the Lord even through his pain. We should not see his passing as a tragedy or a loss but in his words, “To be out of the body is to be with Christ.” Gregory left his imprint with everyone he came across with his words of wisdom and by spreading the word of God. His hobbies consisted of movies, playing his guitar, spending time with family and worshiping God. His favorite place to vacation was San Diego, California. We will not say goodbye to Greg but a “See you soon.” Psalms 91, one of his many favorite verses, says “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty. I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” Husband, Dad, Grandpa and friend you shall remain in our hearts forever… A funeral service will be held Thursday, March the 20th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a visitation hour that same day from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Neighborhood Church, 4633 W. Osborn Rd. Phoenix, AZ. Gregory will be laid to rest at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery at 2300 W. Van Buren St. Phoenix, AZ.
