He was born in Cleveland Ohio on January 21, 1932, to Donald and Margaret Wright. He spent much of his life in Lorain and Elyria and several places before settling in Arizona.
He attended Lorain High School, joined the Airforce in 1950 where he served several years as a crew chief on jets at O'hare Field in Chicago. He worked as a machine repairman at Fisher Body General Motors Plant in Elyria Ohio. He retired from APS where he worked at Palo Verde Nuclear Plant.
He was a member of Am Vets 32 in Elyria, Ohio. Am Vets 47 in Lorain Ohio and held several officer positions. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 62 in Peoria, AZ.
Gordon is survived by his wife Carole of 51 years. Children: Wendy Zaroslinski (William – deceased) Don Wright, Patti Peterson (Phil), Andy Wright (Dawn), Lori Vietzen (Ken), Todd Vietzen (Faith). Many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Margaret Wright, brothers Robert and Donald. Sons Scott and Kenny Vietzen and grandson Matt Zaroslinski.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 10:00am at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary.
