Genoveva de Jesus Antillon, affectionately known as "Gorda", passed away on May 30, 2024 in her hometown of Phoenix, Arizona. Born to Adela Chacon and Aron Antillon on February 7, 1986 in Phoenix, she was a beacon of light and warmth, dearly loved by all who knew her.
Genoveva was a cherished member of the Antillon and Chacon families. She is survived by her siblings Benjamin Aguilar (Candice), Elena Chacon, Catarina Antillon (Viridiana), Briza Antillon (Manuel), and Ruben Antillon (Cassandra).
Genoveva’s love extended to her two daughters Zenaida and Vida Antillon. She was also a beloved aunt to her nephews Joshua and Benjamin Aguilar, Aron Chavez and Rubencito Antillon and her nieces Isabella Aguilar and Adelita Chavez. They will always remember her fun-loving manner and her brave heart. Her hearty laughter will be dearly missed. Her garden and pets flourished under her care.
She was predeceased by her sister Guadalupe, grandparents Ruben and Catalina Antillon, Jose and Genoveva Chacon and uncles Oscar Antillon, Efrain Antillon, and Joseph Chacon.
Genoveva’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by her daughters, parents, siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins, and a vast community of friends.
Services to honor Genoveva will be held on June 10 from 2:00 - 6:00 pm at Greenwood Memory Lawn - Serenity Chapel, 719 N 27th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85009. A Catholic Mass in her honor will be held on June 11 from 9:00 - 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 1421 S 12th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85034. Following the Mass, Genoveva will be laid to rest at 12:00 pm at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ 85009.
The honor of being pallbearers is bestowed upon Benjamin Aguilar, Elena Chacon, Catarina Antillon, Briza Antillon, Ruben Antillon and Adan Guzman, who will accompany Genoveva on her final journey.
Genoveva’s life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, the lives she touched, and the love she shared. Her presence will be deeply missed and will bloom eternally in the hearts of those she has left behind. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her.
