He was born on December 18, 1936 in Parke County, Indiana. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann; his daughter Melody (Eric); his son Darrell; his grandchildren Amber (James), Lisa, Jessica, and Charles; his four great grandchildren Paesyn, Braelyn, Kalani, and Paisley; as well as his cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gary served in the U.S. Air Force for 3 ½ years as a Military Police Officer. Gary retired as a truck driver for Oro Wheat Entenmanns after working for over 30 years.
Gary met the love of his life Mary Ann and they were married in a small wedding chapel in California. They were married for 63 years. He enjoyed being a father to his two children, a grandfather, and great grandfather.
He was a loving, caring family man that enjoyed taking his son bicycle racing. He had a passion for deep-sea fishing, hunting, car racing and quad riding.
Gary will be fondly remembered and missed by all those that knew him. His confidence, honesty, deep calming voice, and stories made him the best husband, dad and grandpa a family could have asked for.
A Graveside service with Military Honors will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 12:00pm at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W. Beardsley Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85027.
