Frances V. Murillo

Frances “Chica” Murillo peacefully went to Glory with the Lord, while surrounded by her loved ones on Monday October 18, 2021. Frances was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Godmother, Aunt, Cousin and Friend. She was born to Soledad Padilla Vega and Ralph Vega on October 8, 1949, in Phoenix, Arizona. She attended Phoenix Union High School, where she met her high school sweetheart and husband, Rufino “Birdie” Murillo. Birdie and Frances celebrated their nuptials on May 15, 1971 and recently celebrated 50 years as husband and wife this past May. Frances has 2 children Reyna (Jesse) and Marquita (Adrian) and 7 grandchildren: Rafael, Nayeli, Julia, Dominic, Isaiah, Abigail and Lucinda. She is survived by her siblings: Felix, Connie, Mary, Rita, Dolores, Pearl, Nancy, Sylvia, Sally, Yvonne and Alice. Frances has reunited with her siblings who preceded in death: Ralph Jr, Alfonso, Clara, Julio and Clara Matilde. She also has numerous God children, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved dearly.

Frances worked for Mountain Bell as a Telephone Operator Supervisor; Polese, Pietzsch, Williams & Nolan Law Firm as a Support Clerk and the Osborn School District as a Psychologist Assistant and Translator. Her bright smile, compassionate heart and good sense of humor touched those around her. She was well known for her love of food, music and dancing. Frances sang with the church choir at Our Lady of Fatima and could always be found on the dance floor at an Oldies Dance or other function.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Our Lady of Fatima 1418 South 17th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85007 beginning with a rosary at 8:30am. The Burial will take place at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery 2300 West Van Buren Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85009 at 11:30am. There will be a luncheon immediately following at City Church PHX 1441 West Glendale Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85021.
