Ethel Dorothy Johnson

Ethel Dorothy Johnson, age 95, of Gilbert, passed away on August 6, 2022. She was born in Chicago, IL on October 14, 1926, the daughter of the late Louis and Alice (Stensloff) Johnson. She was united in marriage to Harris Johnson on Sept. 11, 1948.

Her and her husband enjoyed traveling, cruising, boating and being with their beloved family. While living in Long Grove, Illinois she enjoyed being the bookkeeper of Barrington Montessori. They retired to Phoenix in 1990. She gave her time to others, such as volunteering for 20 years at the PV Food Bank, John C. Lincoln hospital and performing at local senior citizen centers across the valley with her Hawaiian group. They were longtime members of the Shadow Rock congregation.

Ethel is survived by; sons William (Deborah) and Dale (Dana); her grandchildren Ryan (Heather), Brandon (Shelly), Chris (Shannon) and Carrie; and her great-grandchildren Grace, Faithe, Ella, Brody, Scarlett and Greyson. She was preceded in death by son Robert in 1999.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ethel’s honor may be made to the Arizona Humane Society.
