One of the best mentors in my life. I loved his stories and humor. Most of all, my papa loved life and his family. Papa really, truly lived, and he had no regrets. We could all learn from Joe Brown. I miss you papa. Thank you for teaching me the words of Charles Swindell, “I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it.” 

Joe was certainly a character and joke teller.  Many years ago, Jim and I towed an old small trailer for Joe up to the White Mountains near Fool Hollow's Lake.  Over several months, a home was built around that little trailer.  It was always, the Joe Brown trailer. 

We will always remember his smile and that twinkle in his eyes.

My Uncle Joe was the best. I loved my aunt and him my whole life. I remember one time when I was maybe 10 I was walking around singing a song. The parents were playing cards. Uncle Joe said "Paula do you know how to sing Far Far Away? " I'm sure I said yes because he then said "good, will you please do it then!"  It was a joke between us always! I will miss him.
