Ellen Jean Allen

Ellen Jean (Hansen) Allen, 88 of Glendale, passed away on September 14, 2011. Jean was the second of three children born to George Stanley and Iva Olive (Glasgow) Hansen, in Winside, Nebraska. Jean has been an Arizona resident since she was nine days old, when her parents moved to Safford, Arizona. Her husband of 69 years, Grant J Allen, preceded Jean in death, March 8, 2011. Surviving family members are daughters, Carol Squire, Connie Jewell (Marvin), Audrey Simonson (Dave), and son, Grant H. (Ann Skousen), 29 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served in many Ward and Stake auxiliaries in the Phoenix West Stake, and as a temple worker in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. Viewing will be held Friday, September 23, 2011, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Greenwood Memory Lawn Chapel, 719 N. 27th Ave, Phoenix. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 10:00am, with a viewing from 9:00am until 9:45am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5104 W. Pinnacle Peak Rd, Glendale. Interment is at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 719 N 27th Ave, Phoenix, at 1:00pm. Arrangements under the direction of Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, Phoenix, AZ.
