Elizabeth Jane Rider, Phoenix - Jane Rider passed away on January 5, 2021. She was born in Hanging Rock, Ohio on April 21, 1932 to Richard and Gladys Otworth. She moved to Arizona in 1954 with her husband “Pete” and young son Richard. She loved the warm Arizona sunshine. She worked first as a telephone operator and spent the rest of her work history in cosmetics. She owned a Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio and then was a cosmetic and personnel manager at Sears. Her hobbies were gardening, collecting antiques and taking care of her many pets-dogs, cats, parrots and chickens.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother James, and husband Nathan “Pete” Rider. She is survived by son Richard Rider (Katherine), daughter Lisa Spini (John), daughter Melissa Rider, grand daughter Shilo Mead and great grandson Cyrus Mead.
Services will be Tuesday, January 26 at 11:00 AM at the Resthaven/Carr-Tenny Memorial Gardens in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
