Jane was a fourth-generation Arizonan who was born in Phoenix on July 30, 1946, to Clifford and Betty McCarty. She had three brothers, Mike, Danny & George who were her playmates and her champions. Mom always was a girl with a lot of pluck! She went swimming in the canals in the summertime and was the only girl in school who took woodshop instead of Home Economics. In 1963, at just 17 years old, she secretly tried out for and made the Los Angeles Thunderbirds roller derby team.
In 1964, she met her true love, our dad, Bill Crist. They married in 1966 and raised their family in Phoenix and Payson, Arizona. We grew up camping and fishing and had a great time traveling all over the country. We were a close family and Mom was the North Star that guided us all. We could not have asked for a better or more caring matriarch. After Mom became a widow in 1997, she never stopped missing Dad and we are comforted in knowing she has taken his hand once again for all eternity.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Betty McCarty and her brothers Mike and Danny.
Jane will be remembered and deeply missed by many. Her humor, strength and remarkable spirit will continue to live on. She is survived by her children, Tracy McNeeley, Buddy Crist, Amy Levy (Scott), and brother George McCarty (Gail). She was dearly loved by her grandchildren Marshall, Thomas, Mac, Sylvia Jane (Michael), Lucy, Michael. G2 (great-grandma) will never be forgotten by Eli, Dax & Aleena. A graveside service will be held on Fri.1/8 1:00 Greenwood Memory Lawn in Phoenix. 27th Ave and Van Buren
