Elida Delgado Perez of Guadalupe, AZ was born on July 6, 1945 to the late Eugenio and Felipa Delgado in Edinburg, Texas and passed away peacefully on March 12, 2021 at the age of 75 surrounded by those she laughed with, lived for, and loved.
Elida was blessed with a loving family, friends, and church community. She married her best friend and fellow classmate, Roy Perez on July 10, 1964. Together they raised not only her own five beautiful children but also unselfishly raised several grandchildren. Elida was a devoted homemaker and mother figure to many, dedicated to creating a safe and loving home for her family and anyone else who entered her home. Her door was literally always open to everyone and anyone. It was not an unusual sight to see up to ten extra people sleeping on an empty bed, couch, chair, floor. She never ran out of love or time to share with any of them. She taught them all to be independent, strong, responsible, kind, and humble.
Elida’s priority was always her family. She always showed her support at school and sporting events, she enjoyed thrift store shopping, going to the movies, lunch dates, pampering her pets, taking care of her garden, and traveling but let’s not forget she enjoyed a good nap (often). She was full of life and adventure and had more energy than most half her age. She taught EVERYONE to drive stick shift and all you had to do was give her a hammer, drill or screwdriver, she could fix anything….her way. If you wanted to learn one of her recipes you had to pay attention because she was quick in the kitchen.
Elida will be forever remembered by her husband Roy of 56 years and her children, Doreen (Gilbert), Dolores (Antonio), Eddie and Daniel. Elida also leaves behind 9 precious grandchildren, Vanessa, Cierra, Antonio Jr, Mia, Diego, Victoria, Eddie Jr, Joseph and Nicole, and the following great-grandchildren Giani, Samantha, Rocco, Noah, Julian, Amaya, Addison and Natalie. Brothers Bacilio Delgado and Ruben Delgado.
Elida is preceded in death by both parents, son Ernesto Perez, brother Roberto Delgado and sister Gloria Guzman.
Rejoice with the Angels mom until we meet again.
