Eileen Claire Grube

Eileen C. Fanning-Grube 74, Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her daughters and sister on April, 19 at Hospice of The Valley. Born December 19, 1938 to Jim and Bess Fanning in Weehawken, New Jersey. Eileen grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in 1957. Eileen married Fred Grube and had 3 children, Christina Abel, Mark Grube, and Katie Slack. Eileen, affectionately known as "Bummer" to her grandchildren, went on to nurture and help raise other children in the capacity of nanny. Her loving and compassionate nature was never overshadowed by her great sense of humor and strong Irish spirit. Eileen was preceded in death by her brother Captain Martin V. Fanning, sister Mary Jane Fanning, her mother Elizabeth Fanning, brother Thomas A Fanning, her husband Fred B. Grube, her son Mark Grube, sister Patricia A. Wessel, an her father James J. Fanning. Eileen is survived by her daughters Christina Abel and husband Scott, and Katie Slack and husband Thom, her sister Elizabeth DeRochie, brothers James J. Fanning Jr. and Mark Fanning and wife, Emille. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Elizabeth Shea and husband Ryan, Vincent Andreaccio, Christopher Woods, Jordan Andreaccio, Lauren Slack, and Sara Slack. Great grandchildren, Kali Woods and Tommy Shea. There will be a Celebration of Life held at the family home in Phoenix on Sunday, April, 28th at 4:00 pm. For information call 602-253-7819. The funeral will be held in Albuquerque in late May. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of The Valley to honor Mom.
