A Celebration of Life

Known as “Eddie”, the beloved husband of his surviving wife of 35 years, Susan Traylor, as “Ed”, beloved brother to his surviving sister, Charlcie Estes, and sister-in-law, Martha Traylor, brother-in-law Scott (Carmen) Lideen and Jay Lideen, and as “Uncle Ed”, beloved uncle to his surviving nieces and nephews, Ken Oliver, Kenny Oliver, Jr, Corey Adams, Brett (Stephanie) Traylor, Tammie (Keith) Herring, Michael Traylor, Ayana Traylor, and Lyndon (Ase) Traylor, Sydney (John) Garaja, Lauren Herring, K.J. Herring, Kristen (Anthony) Martinez and Taylor (Mary) Lideen, and cherished by many dear friends and neighbors, passed from this earth on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. Preceding Edward in death were his parents Albert and Beulah (Burns) Traylor, and brothers John W. Traylor and Jesse L. Traylor. He will be deeply missed by all.
Edward was born in Massillon, Ohio, and moved to Phoenix in 1978. Once a machinist, a soldier (always a proud Marine), a compassionate teacher and a talented musician, he felt he lived a full life. He wanted nothing more than for people to love each other and be happy, all of which is reflected in the music he wrote, performed and left with us.
In this regard, his original “upbeat” music will be played as a soundtrack to a video of his life to begin at 11:00 AM at the Greenwood/Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 North 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009, on October 12, 2022. Following that, family, friends and neighbors are encouraged to reflect on a fond memory they have of Edward and share it during the “Celebration of Life” service (and/or share memories and expressions of sympathy at www.Greenwoodmemorylawn.com for the Traylor family). Those wishing to send flowers may send them to the mortuary for the service. If you would like to make a donation to a charitable cause “In Memory of Eddie Traylor”, please consider making it to Veterans Heritage Project, online at https://www.veteransheritage.org/donate. Alternatively, you may donate by check, payable to Veterans Heritage Project, with a reference in the memo line to include "In Memory of Eddie Traylor,” mailing your check to Veterans Heritage Project, 10210 N. 32nd Street, Suite C2, Phoenix AZ 85028.
A graveside service with military honors will occur Wednesday, October 12, 2022, from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM, 719 North 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009. Immediately, following the service, a reception will be held near the Traylor residence (information provided at the service).
