Born in Los Angeles, California March 1, 1933, she grew up in Sidney, Illinois. As an adult, she lived in Indiana and Florida, but called Arizona home for over 50 years until passing into heaven.
Doreen went to the University of Illinois, majoring in Home Economics, but did many things with her life. She was a substitute teacher, a bookkeeper, a transcriber for Dr. C. Gilbert Wrenn, and a phenomenal cake decorator. She was also a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood for many years, where she developed many close friends. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, sister and aunt, and friend to many.
Doreen is survived by her children, Pat (Kira), Linda (Bill, deceased), Judy and Mike (Carol); four sisters and a brother; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Mildred, and her older brother, Lowell, Jr. In the months preceding her death, she was surrounded by love and, while she will be greatly missed, we remember the sweet, kind soul that was Doreen.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 12, at 5:00 p.m. at Resthaven Carr-Tenney, 4310 E. Southern Avenue, Phoenix. Following the memorial service, there will be a reception at the Clubhouse at The Meadows Mobile Home Park, 2401 W. Southern Avenue, Tempe.
